Digital Art as a medium has allowed me to significantly expand my ability to create and produce unique works of art that may not be as applicable in more traditional art forms.
I am able to use many unique digital art tools that only require me to have a stylus or mouse to utilize them. This gives me more flexibility on how I want something to look, as I don’t need to shop for, and stock up on, physical materials. The majority of my digital art projects involve the use of Krita and GIMP, which are both open-source programs. I mostly use Krita for drawing and painting computer art pieces, and I lean more towards GIMP when I’m working on editing photos. A lot of my projects that incorporate photography are often altered enough, so that they don't necessarily feel like photography art alone. I do this by playing around with filters and color-correcting settings in GIMP, and sometimes even continue the editing process in Krita, by painting elements onto the piece.
