Uniform Unrest Drawing

Uniform Unrest

This pencil drawing, crafted on 11x14 inch black acid-free paper, demonstrates a carefully considered yet casual approach to a non-figurative design.

I used a white, cezanne brand colored pencil for this pencil drawing, and began near the center of the paper while gradually expanding the design outward. Alternating which direction I went throughout.

The Story:

Anomalous Object: Observations – Entry #7
Region: Starborn Maw – Potentially hostile territory
Given the unusual qualities of this object, its difficult to know if its a natural phenomena, or another byproduct of clandestine experiments from nearby revolutionaries. The object in question, an initially static anomaly composed of unknown material, residing near Starborn Maw, a recently encountered planetary nebula. Its imposing form warps and fades upon approach, only to reassume its initial form once out of its immediate vicinity.

Early into our investigation, sporadic bursts of energy began to emanate from its center, causing our leave shortly thereafter. These phenomena hindered sample collection efforts. Our imaging equipment was unable to capture the object due to optical sensor damage.
Unable to sleep, I decided to create an illustration of what I could recall, during our initial approach.
